Missed this movie when it was here?
Cornell Club Singapore has brought it back just for you! Addressing global
warming is now the no. 1 concern for continued human posterity, as indicated by
ex-UN Secretary General Kofi Annan in his outgoing speech in December and by
the new UN Secretary General Ban in his incoming speech. Want to learn more?
Come see this highly informative, educational and entertaining film on global
warming from ex-Vice President Al Gore. We have arranged a matinee showing at
the new VivoCity mall, so you can have lunch, explore the new centre and bring
the children - it's a worthwhile movie for them to watch too (best for ages 10
and above).
Meet at Corduroy Cafe (French bistro) one floor below the cinema at 12PM for
lunch or 1PM onwards to pick up your tickets.

Cornell Club Singapore is pleased to co-sponsor this movie outing with Westpac
Banking Corporation, the only global bank to be rated no. 1 in the Dow Jones
Sustainability Index, 5 years in the row, and only 1 of 9 global banks and the
only Australian bank to sign the Equatorial Principles, which states that it
will not finance any project which has a negative social or environmental
impact. Westpac in Singapore specialises in working with institutions and
individuals with Australian/New Zealand interests.

Eric Clapton Live in Singapore (SOLD OUT!)
The 17-year wait is over!
Eric Clapton will make his long awaited return to Singapore in January 2007.
Clapton rose to prominence as a member of the Yardbirds, whose lineup would
eventually include all three British guitar heroes of the sixties: Clapton,
Jimmy Page, and Jeff Beck.
In mid-1966, Clapton formed his own band, Cream, with bassist Jack Bruce and
drummer Ginger Baker. With this lineup, Clapton sought "to start a revolution
in musical thought . . . to change the world, to upset people, and to shock
them." His vision was more than met, as Cream quickly became the preeminent
rock trio of the late sixties.
The only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of
both The Yardbirds and Cream and as a solo artist), Eric Clapton continues to
astonish and delight a vast spectrum of music lovers today.
Cornell Club extend this event to its members, alumni and friends by offering 20
Cat 4 ticket @ $127 each (inclusive of Sistic charge). Cornell Club members
will get an additional 15% of the ticket price. Details as followed:

Zinck's Night '06
Cornell Club (Singapore) cordially invites you to Zinck's Night. It started
back in 1890s, when Theodore Zinck was a saloonkeeper in Ithaca and his pub,
the Hotel Brunswick, was a popular gathering place for Cornellians. When the
bar was closed in the mid-60s, celebrating the spirit of Zinck's became a
favorite Thursday night Collegetown tradition of undergraduates.
Today Spirit of Zinck's Night is celebrated in over 90 locations around the
world. So come join us and network with other Cornell alumni @ The Boulevard.
Relive the Cornell Zinck's Night tradition on October 27th from 6:00pm til
9:00pm.
Location:
The Boulevard
28 Maxwell Rd #01-03
Red Dot Traffic Building
(big red painted building near Tanjong Pagar MRT, across from Maxwell Food
centre)
